We are currently pursuing five main lines of experiments. Some details on these four projects are given below.

Text Box: We use cerium ion centers to study the interactions of lanthanide impurities with host bands in layered dicyanide crystals (this is a joint project with Prof. Larochelle at F&M).
Text Box: We probe the macroscopic and local structural changes affecting ferroelectric films under laser annealing,
Text Box: We make organic-inorganic (silica) hybrid materials for coating studies on microresonantors.

We observe the interactions between optical impurities in yttrium oxide nanophosphors with the gases surrounding them
